1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on KuroList, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice.
2. Identity & Usernames
You are required to choose a unique username. Usernames that are impersonating KuroList staff, offensive, or contain 'KuroList' in a misleading way are prohibited. We reserve the right to reclaim or force-change any username that violates these rules or remains inactive.
3. Password & Session Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide a valid email address for account recovery. KuroList is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from shared or weak passwords.
4. Global Chat & Messaging
KuroList provides real-time chat features. You agree not to spam, harass other users, or share malicious links. Sending sexually explicit content, gore, or extreme violence in any public chat or direct message will result in an immediate and permanent account ban.
5. Profile Customization & Image URLs
Users can customize profiles using external Image URLs for PFPs and Banners. You must not use URLs that lead to illegal content, malware, or offensive imagery. You represent that you have the right to use the images you link. KuroList does not host these images and is not responsible for their content.
6. User-Generated Reviews & Thoughts
All reviews and 'My Thoughts' reflect the opinions of the user, not KuroList. We do not tolerate hate speech, political propaganda, or commercial advertising within anime reviews. Content found to be violating these terms will be deleted without warning.
7. Anime Data & Third-Party APIs
KuroList uses the Kitsu API as its primary data source, with fallbacks to Jikan (MyAnimeList) and AniList. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of this data. All anime metadata belongs to its respective owners.
7a. MyAnimeList OAuth Integration
KuroList offers optional OAuth-based sync with your MyAnimeList account. By connecting your MAL account, you authorize KuroList to read your anime list (title, watch status, progress, score) and to perform automatic nightly syncs on your behalf using stored OAuth tokens. Tokens are stored securely and used solely for this purpose. You can revoke this authorization at any time via your MyAnimeList account settings or by deleting your KuroList account.
8. Data Privacy & Automated Backups
Your account data, anime list, and messages are stored in our database. We perform automated nightly backups to secure cloud storage (Google Drive) for disaster recovery. While we take every precaution, we cannot guarantee 100% data integrity in the event of a catastrophic system failure.
9. Zero Tolerance Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for account abuse. This includes attempting to 'hack' the system, exploiting API vulnerabilities, or creating multiple accounts to bypass bans. Such actions will result in a permanent IP and account ban.
10. Administrator Rights
KuroList administrators have the ultimate right to manage the platform. This includes deleting any account, resetting profile elements, force-changing usernames, and removing any content at their sole discretion to maintain community safety.
11. Account Deletion (Right to be Forgotten)
You have the right to delete your account at any time via the settings menu. Upon deletion, all your personal data, including your anime list and messages, will be permanently erased from our active database. Local backups may persist for up to 7 days.
12. Limitation of Liability
KuroList is provided 'as is'. We are not responsible for any direct or indirect damages, including data loss, site downtime, or psychological distress resulting from user interactions or content visibility.
13. Global Compliance
By using this service, you agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content in your jurisdiction.
14. DMCA & Copyright Policy
KuroList respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that any content hosted on our platform infringes your copyright, please send a formal DMCA Takedown notice to [email protected]. We will act swiftly to remove infringing content.
15. Non-Affiliation Disclaimer
KuroList is an independent platform. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with any anime studio, publisher, or third-party service provider mentioned on the site.
16. Platform Ownership
KuroList is owned and operated by KuroYamiiTV. All administrative decisions made by the owner are final.
